Lots of hills here, so we've only done 20 miles. Picnic lunch of cheese, salami and peaches. Now staying just outside Murol with its impressively bleak looking chateau. A lovely camping pitch, but the bar closed at the end of August so off to the Spar shop for some booze. Lovely looking steak for dinner. It's not that warm so we will be huddling around the three tea light camp fire this evening. Favourite bit of the day? Watching Andy in full aerodynamic position descending with the trailer.
Our journey this time will take us from the industrial city of Clermont Ferrand, out into the wilderness of the Massif Central. Our only bookings are the trains out, and trains home again from Toulouse 12 days later. It has to be Toulouse because only the TGV's on the western side of France have bike spaces. No more dismantling bikes, we are getting too old to carry them!
